After such a great enjoyment of my 10k run on Sunday and my ambition to be to run and complete the London Marathon in 2010. I have only gone and put myself on the list to compete in the June 2009 event for one of the most intense competitions out there.

The Ironman 70.3 ok its only half the normal Ironman but its just a warm up. This is what it consists of:

Anyone else mad enough to do it with me? ;)

Here is the link just incase:

And in 2010/2011 I want to do the full one which is double everything in the picture ;)

Obviously I have only just signed up for the pre entry and hopefully will get a place and will keep everyone upto date. June 2009 is quite a way away and hopefully I will hit my training really hard.

Deffo sponsor you for that one fella. I'm crapping myself at the thought of a half marathon, let alone the rest!

One day definitely. I think next year I'll do the Great South Run (10 mile) and then Great North the year after.

Then maybe VERY MAYBE the big one.

Well let me know when your doing it and I will join you. And if you fancy the London Marathon in 2010 I will quite gladly enter it with you.

Mate of mine has done the Great North Run and said it was possibly the greatest moment of his life after his kids being born. Serious respect for even considering it.

Ricey if you are seriously going to be doing the Ironman I would suggest joining a triathlon club, as they will have all the knowledge about setting a training schedule for you, also it will help to ensure you get your placement. You can enter lesser events prior to this one, to ensure you will have a chance of completing it.
