How about a straight swap - Brown to Bolton and Dougie Freedman in at Roots Hall - he had a decent record at Palace and actually before this season did OK at Bolton too.

Said the other day though that Coughlan was pretty much running things prior to Brown joining and according to Brown he was struggling and happy to step back. Not sure he would be the right choice based on that, or that Ron would even offer it to him.
