Illness and injuries, we've got problems for Port Vale.

What's the reserve goalie like? Morris is almost definitely out for Port Vale barring a miraculous recovery. Hall has also had the Lurgy all week, so he might be out as well, and then there's about Five carrying knocks from the last couple of games.
If we get anything from this game it will be brilliant.
Others may have caught the bug by the way.

Interesting information. I was at training today, and Morris took part in the entire session no problem. Prosser was having treatment, but did do some running, so might be ok, Harris didn't take part at all, and i understand has a thigh problem.

As for Hall, I understand that "illness" might not quite be the reason for his absence, but time only will tell.:unsure:

If Harris and Hall are out for one reason or another, then I wouldn't mind Seeing Blair and JJ start. Maybe in a 451 with Dickinson up top on his own, and blair wide right JJ wide left. Switching to 442 if we concede.

I believe a fair few of the players used the same nail file this week, which had a sharp edge.This has rendered 14 of them out for a month.

Well actually, it was both Grant and Hall if you recall, and as it is still only the 25th August, I'd guess a game of patience is required to see if I was told utter rubbish or in fact there is any truth hey :winking:. On the basis that Bullard has joined Ipswich,I'd say the former is unlikely, but not necessarily the later ! History will decide hey.

Why not just go 433 if we go down that route? Its more attack minded, which we need and as a winger JJ should cope with it, Blair didn't do a bad job in 433 last year either

Nigel, I don't know where you get your info from, but I can assure you Hall will be going nowhere, unless a stupid offer comes in. And as for Granty, nobody is interested in taking him at the moment. Both will remain Southend players unless something dramatic happens very quickly.

Well I hope he is fit, and in fairness, I would rather believe my own eyes than the pen of a journalist. Anyway, not long to wait to find out hey !

I wouldn't say 5 days before the window is drastic, just a logical buying strategy and for Luggy and Co, a game of squad balancing v's the potential attraction of money. As I said, history will decide, and I'd be more than happy to divulge my source after the event/non event.
