Question Is this dodgy?

Saw an advert for this website on TV, so thought i'd check it out. Thing is, i can't work out if it's truly legit or not. How can the flog a 37" Sony Bravia for a tenner?

http://uk.madbid.com/

Text messages per 1p bid. Let's say you win a telly for a tenner but the company has recieved 1000 text messages at say £1.50 a text (I can't find the info) - the company sells a telly worth £750 for double the price.

Clever.

no, just a very clever money making idea. they make on average more than £1 per bid (as each bid costs £1.50 but u get a certain amount of free bids) that is made which pushes the price up by 1p, so for example, there is a ps3 slimline on there at the minute just sold for £20.22, price started at 1p (i think), means there have been 2021 bids, making over £2000. also whoever wins bid must then pay VAT and postage, in this case £8, so madbid make even more savings.

So, dodgy and stick clear yeah?

whats not to understand?!

each 'bid' costs £1.50. and your bid increase the sale price by 1p. So the Sony Viao netbook is going for £5.90, meaning that the company has already made £885 from the bids. The chance of you getting the netbook are very slim because everyone will hit bid just before clock reaches zero.
