having spent a few years sporting a similar haircut and being called campo I've always had a bit of a soft spot for him - a great player and seems like a really local legend. hope he stays in england and continues playing
 
What a true legend! WOW! I wish that Eastwood would of done a nice letter like that when he left. Remember Hammell wrote a letter to say its nothing against the club when he left and I have a lot of respect for him for that!

SNAP! I was called Campo in my last few years of school because I sported a similar hairstyle! So I always had a soft spot for him too. He's a legend, and that letter only reinforces that view.
 
What a nice guy. I remember Hammell writing something to the club too. Another great feller! Would be nice to see one from Maher!

I respected Hammell for this aswell, not many players would do that these days.
 
I didn't think players could read or write so I applaud him for having an education

Spot on! It was nice of Stevie, and that is a terrific letter by Campo, seems even better as its a foreigner really showing his appreciation for the English fans, really lovely touch, top bloke!!
 
i am guessing that i am the only bolton/southend supporter on the site! thought that campo was a great player for us and i was lucky enough to meet him a few times :) a shame tht he went in the manner he did, and if the letter is genuine, a phone call to tell him he wasnt wanted was very unfair, and doesnt justify for all he did for us !
i am just glad we have elmader and jaaskelinen for the next few seasons !
