Didn't get on the pitch yesterday - bizarre

Sounds like he struggled against Villa to make an impact, apparently Huddersfield didn't really click against them until he went off, don't think that's necessarily his fault, it sounds like the manager wanted a change in formation that Jack doesn't fit in and it ended up working, I'd guess he decided to stick with it for this match so Payne didn't really fit in to his plans. Ultimately Payne didn't get signed as a starter so there are going to be games he misses out on, they've got a lot of quality in their midfield.

Payne will be rotated a lot, as will a number of players. We've a big squad but it's full of quality in most positions. He came on for the last 25 minutes against Wolves and showed he's a good talent.

We played a behind closed doors game at Liverpool today and it sounded like he was one of the best players on the pitch. A pitch which included the likes of Matip, Lucas, Moreno, Milner, Firmino and Ings

Assist for Payne today, winning at Elland Road. Hes played a big part at St James Park and now Elland Road. Not a bad start for him. So pleased he got away from Brown and is excelling.

That No.9 looks good for Huddersfield! :winking:

This is the Brown who started him in nearly every game since November? Brown looks to have had more faith in him than his current manager.

3 starts an a couple of sub appearances in the last 10 games and only one 15 minute sub appearance in the last 4 games.

Good place for him to be as they are top of the league and I am sure he will work his way into the side there but he was at least playing first team when he was with us.

Unused sub in the last game and on the bench for this game. Come home Payney

Now grabbing headlines for all wrong reasons after making ill-thought tweets regarding Ched Evans case:-

http://www.caughtoffside.com/2016/10/15/deleted-jack-payne-tweet-on-ched-evans-rape-case-so-wrong/

He's clearly misinterpreted the not guilty verdict to mean she lied but it's not really offensive assuming he did just misunderstand what the verdict means, presumably someone set him straight which is why the tweet was deleted, the article is trying to make a big deal out of nothing there.

I watched that game, he looked very much like the Payne of old, running into dead ends and lost the ball everytime he got it, although had one decent effort on goal deflected over the bar.

Maybe trying too hard.

Came on again as a sub today.

And clearly keeps an eye on things here as tweeted what a great pic was the one of Cokes leapt onto Woody's back after he scored
