January Transfer Window Thread 2020

Reminder. We have no money
I don't think any fees were involved and two of their current staff havebeen made available for transfer. Adams clearly identified what was needed very quickly and has acted upon it, a manager who knows his way around the lower divisions.

We've had experienced managers like Sturrock who knew their way round the lower divisions and still the transfers didn't come in quickly. It's almost as if the constant is the chairman and the financial state.

Morecambe are 1 point above safety. We are 16 points below safety.

Good point .But it rather begs the question as to why the Chairman stated that up to 6 new players would be coming in during this window and why Sol rather backtracked from that in his last BBC Essex interview.

Probably hoped to get rid of some to free wages but has realised it's not that easy.

I think Ron still thought we could stay up when he made that statement.

It’s all gone quiet on the Ridgewell departure. It was presented as virtually a done deal and yet he still seems to be on the payroll and nowhere near the match day squad.

I'm guessing, as said above, that bearing in mind our league position, some of the players would look to jump ship or accept being off loaded.
The flip side to this of course is, "I'll see out my contract, I should be paid at the end of each month so, no worries".

Presumably he's hanging onto his contract until the end of the season for dear life.
I agree and he is entitled to do so if he has a contract. Bearing in mind the dearth of options at the back especially in the last game with no defenders on the bench he must be either injured or written off by Sol.

I suspect that RM didnt foresee us still being winless under Campbell and falling further points behind the pack, maybe the wind has now well and truly been blown out of his sails... we are absolutely down, not even brett angell stan collymore ricky otto and barry fry could save us now

if hes not training and not attempting to be match fit then I am sure theres a case for breach of contract.. if I made no attempt to go to work every day eventually my employer would have a case to let me go... if he wants to be paid, surely at least he should be out training every day with the U23
