Joe Shaughnessy

Started for St Mirren today, my girlfriends family are St Mirren fans will see how he got on

Man of the match apparently, “won every header”

Found his level then. Sunday league
Correction:it was on Saturday not Sunday.
But you’re right in one thing, there were plenty of indications that he could cope well at a higher level than Lg1/Lg 2 i.e. Scots Premier.

Yeah no ****...

Should’ve kept him.
Don’t agree with this. He had some truly shocking games for us last season. The penalty he gave away at Lincoln was comical.

What this does show is how bad the Scottish Premiership really is. Nathan Ralph was player Of the season for Dundee in the Prem before he left for us. Another who really disappointed last season.

What kind of a reply is this? Just because I don’t agree with you.

I’m not even sure what your point is? Surely getting rid of the deadwood is a good thing? Milligan, Mansom. A few good games for another team and everyone thinks we should’ve kept them. Reality is they didn’t want to fight and play for us when things were tough.

My point was that everyone had some truly shocking games but I feel it’s unfair to single out Shaughnessy like you have.

Oh it’s ok for you to not agree with my post but when I disagree with yours it’s not ok!

Ralph, Shaughnessy, and Milligan certainly did.

The latter two didn’t appear to give a ****.

The former needs to be taught how to defend.

It's a Joe Shaughnessy thread surely to single him out is the point...

Imo Joe was never the player I hoped we had signed, he was improving; but the signing of him suggested he was to be a "nailed on starter" but he was usually a reserve.
However he was also not, again imo, as poor as some suggest, he got better as he played more, if he had stayed then he could have been a steady CB for the coming season, but who can be 100% on these things.
Off pitch he seemed quiet and unintrusive, certainly not offensive or arrogant SO I do not understand the animosity towards him.
