Kenzie Ibe

Not really surprised there, he might have been worth a gamble if we were still in League 2 but he's nowhere near League 1 standard.

i agree with you there Whatever. Didnt think much of him, hope we get jozic and woodard tho!

Been distinctly unimpressed with Woodard the three times I've seen him play.

He took his goal very nicely, but all three game completely bypassed him. I heard he was good against Maldon, but from what I've seen he's nowhere near good enough/ready to be playing third division football.

just about to say the same HKB. He runs around alot but doesn't really have an end product.

do you reckon any of the youth team, such as max porter and nick skelton, will be offered professional contracts?

Why are you talking about Petts?
Thought this was a thread about the trialists?

Worries me a bit 'cause from the tone of the article on the OS it seems Tilly doesn't really want any of them.... he also said that no-one stood out.

Did this summary include Jozic?

If Jozic isn't signed I think Tilly will live to regret that decision later in the season

Come on guys, bear in mind we don't know anything about Jozic's personality. Tilson's record indicates that he only buys players who are very determined and very professional. Whilst Jozic may have done well on the pitch, Tilson won't sign unless his attitude is right.

Why do you think Petts and Gray played so many games last year? Work rate and determination came, arguably, above talent.

with a squad so small i think we need to sign all the half decent players we can get even if they are just precautionary

That's a touch naive - SUFCITP's right in saying that if a player has the wrong attitude or a disruptive personality then Tilly won't sign him, after all any unrest caused by such players could have an adverse effect on the team and we certainly do not need that in arguably the most important season for SUFC in years.

Tilly knows what he is doing. I don't think he has made a poor signing yet to be honest. I think that if Tilly prefers to bide his time than that's what we should do. There is absolutely no point in rush buying the wrong player.

I hope you are right and that Goater does not turn out to be his first flop. I am concerned that we got a guy that had as much decided to retire, is not local, does not have youth on his side and despite all rumours clearly did not have any other clubs chasing him. Age has no respect for reputation. Apart from Peter 'Pan' Beagrie there are very few examples of aging Premier$hite/Championship players creating much of an impact in the lower divisions, especially strikers. If he is here majorly for his coaching does he have a badge? Has he any coaching experience? Are United so 'go-ahead' they run to having a specialist strikers coach? I hope my concerns are allayed but when the squad is so thin, particuarly in the forward line, I wonder about the merits of having a known 'crock' who surely at his age may well take longer on the treatment table than others with a few less years on the clock.
