Official Match Thread Leyton Orient v Southend United

This performance has been awful.

As good as Orient are we have been woeful.

Without macca and Taylor we have lacked any kind of bite and Akinola has been completely isolated.

We desperately need a big ******* up front who knows how to play.

Demetriou, Egbri, Hart and Oyalinka have all been **** poor tonight
You have to give credit to their 9 tonight, he played very well and made Hart look bad I think.

All things considered we were crap. Stevenage winning earlier makes it more annoying but onwards to another tough game Saturday.

From minute 2, I said to my pals, we look ****ing leggy.. sam hart easily beaten. You could just tell it wasnt going to happen tongight, everyone of the midfield second to every ball tonight James Olayenka or Oekkeki or Olenobo as the Orient commentary called him, was clearly injured, and couldnt compete. Still, I am absolutely made up to get to this part of the season and be within 4 points of safety... Hobson and white looked reliable, Sim still looked like a centre forward, it just had the feel that it was one game to many today.... We aint going to win them all, but as long as we carry on, on the right trajectory (Newport being called off due to bad weather will be huge for us, we clearly need a rest

Can’t think of anyone who covered themselves in glory tonight.

Not sure MM has earned his crust either - Hart was clearly out of sorts, but no attempt was made to address it.

Still, a reality check. We would have killed for that performance 2 months ago.

Orient the better side. But league 2 level is awful this year. 3 or 4 quality signings and we can give this division a real good go.

Orient were better than us and Wilkinson was excellent. Their Akinola was also dominant in their defence. We had no stand out players.

Tonight's performance from us was very disappointing. In the last few games we have been snapping at the feet of every opponent, harrying them and closing them down. We didn't do that tonight. I don't know why although we really miss Macca and Kyle Taylor. MM was giving the ref a roasting after the final whistle; it's good to see the passion but he needs to keep a clear head for our next tougher game against Newport. Maybe we should all do a rain dance to ensure the pitch is waterlogged again......

I think we might have got something had it not been for the first goal- but we didn’t deserve much and can’t complain

Appalling refereeing for first but you can’t rely on officials at this level- you have to be sufficiently better that you are not at the mercy of the inevitable howler from time to time.

Barrow lost and Grimsby drew so could be worse..
