Luke Daniels

I read that this morning.Keeping a clean sheet is a very good start.Looked decent when we had him

Can't believe he's been there 9 years!

Not good enough for young, English players to be sitting, twiddling their thumbs!

Don't quite understand why WBA retain him. Clearly he's never going to play for their first team, and he's mid 20s now.

Suppose he is a decent third keeper and don't imagine he is on much by prem standards but I agree.

Shows whats wrong with modern football really. He's happy to just sit there collecting a wage.

He could be a very good keeper at League One / Bottom half of the Championship 1st choice keeper and actually advance his game.

Suppose from his point if view he can earn more as third choice with WBA than first choice with a club lower. He has a wife and a kid to support so maybe his morals go out the window. Short career and PFA pension continuation us 5% of income so higher his income more he saves. Less chance of injury, longevity etc.

Agree with you but don't blame him either. It's just a job to him.

Maybe they've been playing FIFA for last couple of seasons and hoping he turns out like he does on there!

There are 'only' 92 #1 jerseys available, and with keepers having longer careers than most then it's difficult being a young keeper to get an opportunity. That's why Bentley needs to stay with us as long as possible to develop.

When you say as long as possible, what you really mean is until we can't develop him any further!
