Ticket News Maher Testimonial Match - Fri 16th May - Maher XI v Premier League Legends

It would be good for numbers of the premier league players we're announced. It would certainly help put bums on seats.

Seems odd not to announce, unless they are struggling to get people down.

Unfortunately yes I'm in the wait and see camp... want to see who's appearing really. My time and money is limited and what with the playoffs (and hopefully Wembley) in site, this is not really a 'must buy' for me at the moment.

I must admit, I do find it odd that this has been scheduled right in the midst of a potential playoff campaign.

Would like to know the thinking behind that tbh. I assume it’ll be down to time constraints and relaying the pitch.
I think it's also because at the time the date was selected, we weren't quite at the heady heights we are now so it was probably not envisaged that we'd potentially still involved!

I wonder if @StanCollymore would come and play. His association with us seems to have fallen off a cliff somewhat. Which is sad when you consider he was heavily involved with Kev getting the job and did so much during our darkest time.

I know there was a disparity with recruitment strategy but I'd like to think that Stan can at least see the club is going in the right direction and is massively better without Ron. I really hope he would come down for this and he would certainly be welcomed by all.

He did have one tweet directed towards us a few weeks back I think.

I somehow don't see it... he's just obsessed with Villa at the moment lol, to the point of annoyance. To be fair I see why, as they're doing pretty well right now.

To be fair, that is the team he supports. That’s like Discussing at us being obsessed with Southend at the moment…

He changes like the wind I’m afraid, one month Liverpool, then Forest,Villa, Us, sadly however much he did good imho he’s very self publicised whichever gives him news space. Yes I know this will make me get tin hat, but question has to be why didn’t COSU give him a position if so part of the end of The Rat era ?
