As the coach is ruled out now and driving is very much a last resort, it seems getting a train is the best option now.

That is, as long as they are actually running. Went on thetrainline and they couldn't give me any times. Is anyone intent on getting the train there and do you have any train times handy?

Only problem with the train is the 45 minute walk from High Wycombe station.

Ah. In answer to my own question (from a previously blocked popup:

So I guess that rules out the train. Any other suggestions before I break the bad news?

I'll be driving. If you want to share the petrol I don't mind giving you a lift.

Probably should have pointed out there are three of us.

Is anyone driving up from the Leigh area who would be willing to give me a lift? Obviously I will share the petrol.

Well I live in Leigh and it's only me going at the mo! I could take 3 people. Four at a pinch as long as you're all a reasonable size! My car is a BMW 3 series so you know the size.

Anyway smartarse, I just wanted to make sure they'd be comfortable - no boast intended about the motor (and believe me, there's nothing to boast about).

The people who get a lift with me are comfortable as they know i'm driving them to games and back and safe in the knowledge that i stick to the speed limit ...

Sounds good moneypit. I'm staying just off the London Road, in between Chalkwell Park and the Elms, but I'll meet you wherever is easiest for you, if thats ok.

I live near Thames Drive, so I'm sure we can sort something out. Give me your contact details, privately if you like, and we'll arrange it.

Sufcintheprem if you want the other spaces can you let me know asap as someone else on here has expressed an interest.

Cheers.
