Mezcal

Past sufc history gives me that idea. 1 home league game in December won't help to much either.
Whilst it wouldn't surprise me if players wages will be a problem in December (and beyond) evidence so far is that they'll be paid. So I'll put you down for speculating rather than guarantee.

Ummm thats why I'm asking on shrimperzone for any common sense input
Doomed to frustrate I'm afraid- accounts years out of date (and so likewise the value of financial and other information therein), primary assets are land/property the valuations of which will have changed drastically (e.g. Fossets), loads of interco debt the underpinning of which is difficult, if not impossible, to determine...and then what sits in Mezcal.

If you look at that court case where Ron was chased (wrongly) for in total £5.5m in VAT on two land deals- this indicates a total sale value of £25m+ Where does that sit in the deck of accounts? Which company/companies? Not small numbers for a small time property developer who we are often told never develops anything....

As one D. Rumsfeld once said "as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know..." And in the case of Ron we can add unknown unknowns...

I've messaged Tom Lawrence on LinkedIn to say I will do the accounting work for free. He didn't reply.
Big shock. It is what they do at this club, not answer messages nor e mails. Lawrence runs the club day to day and as far as I (and a lot of others who are starting to wake up to the fact now) am concerned, he is as culpable in this mess as Ron 😔

I think people sometimes forget that he’s only employed part-time and has another job (presumably one where he actually gets paid on time).

Given the amount of staff who have no doubt left as Ron hasn’t paid them, I expect he and the staff remaining are stretched very thinly.

Oh shut up, leave Tom Lawrence out of it!

I have mixed feelings about TL in all of this. On the one hand I feel sorry for him, because he must have an unbelievably difficult job on his hands...yet on the other side, he must have taken the job knowing that the club is in a huge mess, in the first place.

Sticky wicket...Whats he supposed to say? Its obvious Ron wont allow any outside help.

so he says no and cue evening echo story, tweeting, sz meltdown etc.....

He's the CEO. A CEO wouldn't need approval from a chairman in normal business practice.

Even if he didn't want to take the offer a polite decline for a very generous jesture would be reasonable.

Wow! That's disappointing of him to not even respond.
TBF I'm connected to Tom on LI. He has about 1,000 connections and thats without the vast number of unconnected others who will messaging him relating to not just the club but his other interests (and of course try to connect, sell him something etc. etc.). Its not the best way of getting hold of him- its not like he's ignoring phone calls and texts!

I am also connected to Tom on LinkedIn. As I mentioned in a previous post, my message was marked as read soon after I sent it. In response to a previous post, no, I’m not an insolvency practitioner, but I am a qualified chartered accountant who trained with a Big 4 Firm and I have over 25 years of experience. I also interviewed to be Head of Finance at Southend United in 2008. So I believe I could help.
