Its reasonable to expect that a part of the managers role is to motivate his team, but once the players step onto the pitch it's down to them. Southend are currently fortunate enough to have a number of senior players in the side who have done enough and seen enough to motivate the side around them and steer away from mistakes that often arise with less experienced footballers. Harris up front, barker at the back and now Dailly in the middle. In fact there is a good deal of experience throughout much of the team. So how is it the side does not look very orchestrated or led? Are there too many voices on the pitch or do we lack one imposing leader during the matches?
