As I said in my previous post, it doesn’t matter who Ron’s in partnership with, his name is on the development. You honestly think he would have stuck around this long if he wasn’t involved in a large way and didn’t stand to make millions from the development?

Ron is potless and struggled to even secure the £5 million bridging loan. It took him
4 months over the time he said to finally secure the loan.

Ask yourself this, why did Dallas, as you say who are extremely wealthy, not just loan Ron the £5 million months ago? If they are holding a 50% interest in the development and stand to make millions then why not just loan him that money straight away and get the development underway as soon as possible?

As I said Ron’s name is mud pretty much everywhere now and he’s burning more and more bridges by the day with the negative publicity that he is creating.

The credit crisis that killed the plans in 2008?

I hate to break it to you but we’re in a far worse credit crisis now than we was in 2008.

So Bloomberg produce a UK financial conditions index - it aims to measure the level of financial stress to assess the availability and cost of debt. Positive value accommodative conditions, negative value restrictive conditions. Current value is +0.257, not as good as most of 2021 but OK. From the graph you can see a real credit crisis in 2008, a blip from trussenomics and at the start of the pandemic, but right now no credit crisis.

What's wrong with a balance of opinions on here. Some Shrimperzone posters have experience in the construction industry at various levels from actually working on site to management and company ownership.
Things may not be discussed on WhatsApp groups but they are certainly discussed amongst trade association meetings..........
Unfortunately our owner has developed a reputation built over many years and commercial companys be they suppliers, traders, contractors, finance etc will all assess their own risks when working for a client !

You mean like the time Ron went to the training ground and said to the players “you won’t be getting paid for a few weeks but don’t try and go against me, cos you’ll lose”

How did that one work out Danny Boy? Oh yes, Kacper won and Ron lost.

If Ron had kept his mouth closed we probably would still have Kacper. Instead it’s left us with only 3 centre backs so if one of them get injured we’re screwed. Plus Ron’s shot himself and the club in the foot now for a large payday for Kacper as he would have probably been sold for a very decent transfer fee down the line….good work again Ron

It doesn’t matter the development is worth £500 million, that’s great if you end up getting paid for it, but many construction firms won’t want to risk their companies on a guy who’s had winding up orders on pretty much every company he’s been involved in. Would you? as I certainly wouldn’t for them sums of money.

So because he’s built a £2 million training ground you think that guarantees he’ll build a £500 million development do you? Even though he can’t afford to complete the training ground for another 3-4 years?

As I said, I won’t lose any sleep over some who don’t want to believe what I say because they are so blinkered into believing Ron all the time.

I’ve never suggested I am in the know but simply pointing out that someone claiming to have spoken to all of the industry leaders of which all of these apparently do not want to be part of our project is simply bollocks.

I dont think anyone has claimed to have spoken to "all of the industry leaders" but there is a diversity of people with experience and knowledge on Shrimperzone so I think some people have just tried to pass on some of their knowledge to fellow supporters me included.
Personally I have a very limited knowledge of things such as finance, legal matters, company structure's etc so I find it fascinating to read other people's insider knowledge via their experiences etc.
We will see what happens with so many things associated with SUFC in due course including the Stadium and housing development build, just hope it happens !

I don't wish to go into detail and get myself into trouble but lets just say it's not 'all' bollocks.

The simple answer of course is that before 1998/99 the Club owned Roots Hall which was sold to Roots Hall Ltd for £4m (as valued by a Valuer that Ron contracted with compared to the book value in the accounts of £6.8m as valued by a Valuer that Vic employed. Martin Dawn Plc also bought the lease for the Access Sports ground for £500k when it had a book value of £1m.

The audited accounts for 1999 also state “ The Club may also participate in any uplift in value should the purchaser,in turn, sell the freehold or enter into a comprehensive redevelopment of the property“

This is how Ron will write back the debt to enable him to repay those who have lent his company money - capital investment - ie from the extra value from the land redevelopment. The intercompany debt is probably in excess of £20m now.

As well as these assets we also had a few £m of liabilities and were a few days from being wound up by HMRC. The only way the club was saved at the time was Ron and Delancy doing this deal.

Edit: PS The asset stripping went on in the Anton Johnson days when the funds in the supporters Christmas Club were no where to be found at Christmas and all sorts of equipment disappeared.

It's worth also noting why the value was £6.8m under Vic. It was because he was trying to (and it seems succeeding in) overvaluing Roots Hall so that he could borrow against it to fund the team. That was never going to be sustainable.
