New Southend Stadium

We could club together and get is named the Shrimperzone Arena......

Or the "Frankie Banks looks like a Gibbon Stadium"

Assuming there is no sponsorship deal I really like the sound of the Fossett's Stadium

I do however think something should be done to mark the legend of Sidney Broomfield i.e. an access road named after him as mentioned or one of the stands at our new home. I also like the sound of the Broomfield Stadium but I reckon the name will coincide with the location.

The "Wignall bogs" - I like the sound of that too!

The "Val's Trainers" Stadium in honour of the legendary aforementioned shop in Berry's Arcade, Rayleigh. If not, on a similar vein, why not the "Hi-Tec Moonboot Enourmo-drome"? Just a thought, don't hammer me for it.

I think 'New Hall' sounds reasonable but like the sound of blue lagoon and if it comes down to it, I don't really mind Fosset's Stadium/arena/hall etc.

What about:

I Can't Believe It's Not Roots Hall!

The Cockle Shed

The Stadium of Illuminations (sounds better than light)

The Shrimp-Inn

How about

T.G.I. Fossets?

Or, slightly more seriously, why do we have to have the word "Arena" or "Stadium"?  How about just "Fossets"?

Then we could have a blue sign over the inside of the players tunnel entrance that would state "This is Fossets" that our players could touch superstitiously on their way past onto the pitch.

In tribute to our friends that supported us every step of the way, how about 'Karers Park' or 'Nimby Valley', or even 'Treehuggers Terrace'?

Either that or 'The Stadium of Shrimp. Mmmmmmmm, Shrimp.'

You know it makes sense.

In principle i am against a sponsored stadium, but if it can help to pay for it, ang guarantee that it happens, who cares?

All arsenal fans are going to refer to the stadium as Ashburton Grove, not the emirates stadium, just like if we have a sponsored stadium it will be FF.

Whatever it ends up being officially called, I bags the first naming rights of the fanzine "Down on the Farm".

Ok. a little bit more of a technical way of looking at it.

You've got the preferred names. So therefore its going to be one of either:
Broomfield (Sid)
Fossetts
Roots
Trigg (Oliver)
Kursaal
Roberts (Trevor)
Hollis (Roy)
Best (Billy)
etc, etc

Now its time for a bit of thesaurus work! One of the following:

park, esplanade, estate, forest, garden, grass, green, grounds, lawn, lot, meadow, parkette, parkland, place, playground, plaza, pleasure garden, recreation area, square, tract, village green, woodland, stadium, arena,
amphitheater, athletic field, bowl, coliseum, diamond, field, gridiron, pit, ring, stade, boards, bowl, circus, coliseum, course, field, ground, gym, hippodrome, platform, ring, rink, square, stage, dome, arch, bubble, bulge, covering, cupola, mosque,

I think thats about it. Take your pick!

I quite like Stade Fossett

Just thinking about transport links - if the club organise some sort of shuttle bus on matchdays that starts on the seafront it could be called the "Kursaal Flyer"!!
