tyre-shopper.co.uk is looking the best bet at the moment but anyone got any other good sites or recommend anywhere locally!? Usually use shoebury tyre & auto over at Towerfield but wanted to scout around a bit first!

National Tyres aint that bad there place in Hadleigh are ok. other then that Foundry Tyres in Hockley are the people I use.

One thing with tyres I hear that it DOES pay to get the more expensive ones as there are some cheap and nasty tyres out there!

On my 406 Coupe I always insist on Pirelli P6000's last for ages and give good grip.

What TB said.

Pirelli's have been great for me (P Zero Rossos) but I guess a lot of it depends on the car. I'm not really a car nut but I had a pair of Continentals at the back before and the arse would be like Bambi on ice whenever the roads got slick.

I did a bit of research and found www.mytyres.co.uk to be pretty useful for finding the best set (although I price-matched them and bought them locally). They test the tyres in dry/wet/icy conditions and give all sorts of ratings so you can compare - grip, braking, comfort, noise levels, wear and tear, etc..

Worth a look.

Usually go to Jet Tyres (Thundersly or Rayleigh).

Most will do you a good deal or price match if you just phone a few up tho. And then phone them back if you get a better deal, and so on.

Ended up going for the Pirelli 5000's which came to £180 (all in) with Black Tyres and will be using the F1 place along Sutton Road and am getting them done this Wednesday!
