Just heard Steve Thompson has left Cambridge with four other backroom staff, and Newman is now caretaker manager, just when they thought things couldn't get any worse they put Newman in charge

Cambridge will need the luck if his in charge next season....

Ohh well we wont be seeing cambridge back in the league for a while then!

C'mon guys, the fella was very badly treated by SUFC. He may not have been the best manager in the world but he always did his level best for Southend United and for that we should be grateful.

He is one of few that can say everygame he played he gave 100%. Also, lets not forget, he masterminded one of Southend United's greatest comebacks Vs Rushden on Boxing Day. What a match.
