SUFC: The Future Next season

It's quite simple.

We need to be better defensively and far better offensively.

Much stronger in attack and better in defence.

Hayes isn't good enough. And our front 4 aren't good enough.

Sounds like Gus is off so it would appear that wind would be the option In a 442. Or a 433.

Where did you hear that Gus is off?

In the 8 seasons since the NL introduced 6 play-off spots, the odds of getting promoted via a play-off spot workout at:

2nd place = 37.5%
3rd place = 25%
4th place = 12.5%
5th place = 12.5%
6th place = 12.5%
7th place = 0 %

If we get one money-bags club running away with the title each year then we have to be pitching our budget at a 3rd place spot as a minimum. If we finish 3rd three years running we have a 75% chance of getting out of the NL. That's a more financially prudent (if nail-biting) way of getting out of the division than over-stretching ourselves in pursuit of the title.
Your math isn't mathing there mate

Based on your maths, a 4th consecutive 3rd place finish is 100% chance of promotion 😅

It would statistical work out to be approximately 57.8% chance of promotion, not 75%

Any news on pre season friendlies? Or is going to be the usual rubbish? Canvey Wakering Billericay Away and Ipswich etc at home! Boring! Need to get some money into the club and pre season friendly should be a way of getting some much needed funds!

Ipswich would bring a fair amount of moolah in wouldn’t it? They’d travel in good numbers.
