Sadly for us. We have managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Tough one to take. That said Oldham probably should have won the game in normal time. Having got ourselves ahead in extra time though, we had chances to wrap it up. ☹️
 
Very proud of the team this season.

15 minutes away from winning that but is what it is. Two lapses in concentration, maybe another lot of extra time was a bridge too far.

All I ever want is a team to take pride in supporting, that fights until the last.

Blue until I die, enjoy the summer and see you all later in the year.
 
It's tough to lose that way, but at least we got into Wembley. Next season we need to hit the ground running and finish top. Neither Morecambe nor Carlisle are as good as Barnet and Oldham so that will help (although Morecambe always beat us of course). Scunthorpe coming up could be tricky and York and Forest Green will both be strong again.

So it won't be easy, and we have to get over today - being just 10 minutes away from victory is cruel. But if I'm being totally honest I think a draw would have been a fair result and we would then face the lottery of penalties.

Good luck to Oldham and I hope we can follow in their wake next season.
 
Not so much that Walker miss it was a tight angle ,i thought he should have just passed out to Coker who would have had the whole goal at his mercy, But never mind a valiant effort, Well done the players and management . We go again next season in NL hopefully with a much stronger team . Now lets sit back see what players are released and some decent signings. Season has been a success ,you all got a trip to Wembley and a few memories , Only down side was National league TV i never had trouble with DAZN is total crap i missed what the penalty was for also missed Oldhams 3 rd goal ,DAZN on and off every 30 seconds , never again will i subscribe to DAZN.

It is a celebration D1 ,lets be honest no way come January did we really expect to be at Wembley playing off in the final, some great memories on the way and truthfully everyone can see SUFC are on the way back. Next seasoon will be harder but with the right signings who knows where we can be .
 
And hopefully the EFL were watching and heard the words of the commentators when they said how the NL has progressed now and how we should have 3 promotion spots .
