Having said that, apparently, we're charging Wigan fans £22 and our fans £19 for this weekend's game. Whilst the price difference isn't as drastic as the Oldham game, just thought this would be worth mentioning...

Where are the £19 tickets I can't see anything about that anywhere? You can get an Adult ticket for £18 in the Family Stand/South Lower but you are 'meant' to have a child with you for that price. That is part of our normal pricing structure of which you get similar differences at grounds we go to and nothing to do with a special offer.

Having said that I think we should offer away fans an Adult & Child ticket for £22 similar to our Family Stand pricing structure.

I am convinced that the football league is making life hell for away supporters. How can it help either club to play such a game in midweek, how much chance of a train back to Southend at that time of night?
I appreciate midweek games need to be played but why not make them more local, although I accept Southend don't have many local games this season, I am sure it could be improved.
It could be that Oldham hierarchy want to lessen the misery for their supporters losing to us mighty Southend United, by reducing the ticket prices for them in a somewhat deprived area.
Not sure how successful these price deals are ultimately. Oldham have a new stand to pay for so would have thought they need all they can get.
I notice that Sunderland have travelled all the way to Palace tonight, again bad for away fans:sad:

It was a deliberate decision by the Football League to have longer distance games in the evenings this season and have more local games on Saturdays.
As you say it was always going to be a problem with this seasons League 1. Let's hope for some more local games next season whatever division we are in.

Although I would be quite happy with Newcastle away on a Tuesday night in the Championship!
