Latest Rumours Ollie Kensdale wanted by Ipswich.

Our defense was amazing last season. It's what made us such a force in a lot of games. We've now lost Lopata, Hobson and maybe Kensdale. Add in the out of contract Ralph, that leaves us with just Lomas. That's a huge rebuild at the back.

This is a good thing.

We should be having our players linked with clubs two divisions higher. We found a NLS player, trained him up to be someone clubs two levels above are interested in.

Other than youth team players, we haven’t had players moving up the ladder like this for a while.

This is what is supposed to happen.

It’ll make Southend a more attractive destination - if players join Southend, they’ll get their chance and we’ll improve them as players through good coaching. We’ll attract a better calibre of player which will benefit our first team and we’ll pocket a decent transfer fee along the way. Win-win.

Not at all surprised. Classy player and really comfortable with the ball at his feet which the modern day centre back demands. Still young and bags of potential. What a joy to have some proper recruitment back.

Disappointed with this. And if clubs are looking at Sandat as well. Oh dear.

All I would say is that there are likely to be more opportunities to play for these players staying put with Southend United ............. I don't blame players for moving to clubs in higher leagues - sometimes it works out & sometimes it doesn't.
