Leeds won the Division One (Premier League) title in 1992 - tonight we beat them 1-0

Man United have won the Premier league too many times for me to list - last season we beat them 1-0

Notts Forest won the title in 1978 - a couple of seasons ago we beat them 1-0

Last season we beat Burnley 1-0 at home. I don't think Burnley have won the league since everything was in black and white but I thought I'd chuck that in.

Random post of the week award :)

If only the other 23 clubs in this God-forsaken league had won a league championship in their pasts :(

Boy this is a pointless post.

But anyway, we beat Wolves 1-0 in 1987 and they had only won the Div 1 championship 30 years earlier (we must have caught them on the slide a bit from that)

These past Football League Champions have also been beaten at Roots Hall - Newcastle, Blackburn, Liverpool, Sunderland, Portsmouth, Ipswich, Spurs, Derby.

O.K. we have also beaten all these FA Cup Winners in matches at Roots Hall as well -
Bury, Blackburn, Aston Villa, WBA, Bradford City, Barnsley, Wolves, Notts County, Sheffield Weds, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Spurs, Burnley, Man United, Newcastle United, Portsmouth, Huddersfield, Bolton, Cardiff, Sunderland, Preston, Charlton, Blackpool, West Ham, Southampton, Ipswich, Coventry, Leeds, Wimbledon.

Pretty impressive record don't you think.

Infact to make it even more interesting with a home victory over Leeds last night, the only FA Cup Winners that we have played at home and not beaten are Manchester City and Chelsea.

There are 8 FA Cup winners that we have never played at home.

Well I never!!!!

Another pointless stat is we have never lost at home to a European Cup Finalist. Record against Leeds, Forest and Manu reads played 5 won 3 drawn 2 lost 0.
Bring on Barcelona and AC Milan!

Er, Liverpool?
I know we drew in 1979 but think they came to Roots Hall in the 60s and won.
Arsenal doesn't count as we are yet to play them in a competitive match.
How about Villa as well?

I think those stats are games played after they won the European cup.

Well pointed out sir, how could I have forgotten that game I was there. Okay full record against European Cup Finalist's at home reads: Played 6 Won 3 Drawn 3 Lost 0 goals for 5 goals against 2.

Of course we still have Forest to play this season lets keep the record going.
