Other Southends

I know the Irish Southend United (Waterford premier leage) has been mentioned on here before but there is a southend FC in Scotland.
Well the Uist and Barra Amatuer league
The Won 10-3 away from home on Tuesday !

I can't seem to track a website down for the Waterford league let alone Southend United. but the other SUFC were battling against relegation at the last report I read

I think the Waterford League is really small beer (Guinness?)

I've holidayed in Waterford many times as my Mum's side of the family are from there. I never once heard anything of them or read about them in local papers. It's all about the hurling down there, so it is - Mount Sion, Ballygunner and Erin's Own all the way.

I very much doubt the Waterford league have their own website. Might see the results on the website of the local newspaper down there, but as Uxbridge says, they are more interested in hurling in that county.

That was Me in 2002, I went to NZ for my Honeymoon and my lovely understanding wife agreed to a trip to watch them play. I contacted them and they were very helpful.

Day 1. They drove to pick us up, which involved a 6 hour round trip. They paid for a hotel for the night. They had a game that day which they one 2-1 against a team called gore. the evening was spent at a working mens club enjoying food, drink and a live band.

Day 2. we were due to be dropped off in queenstown but they ended up taking us a further hour out of there way.

They could not have been kinder, we swapped a Searle shirt signed by the team and donated by the club. I was given 2 new New Zealand southend united shirts, 1 of which i presented to G.King.

There was an article on the clubs website.

The wife is now a season card holder.
