Given the number of experienced officials who have been assigned to matches with nothing riding on them, I am surprised a match that matters (potentially) to both teams has been given to a first year referee, Lee Collins from Surrey. He is being fast tracked through the system and has risen to the level of League referee remarkably quickly.
He started off with 6 red cards in his first 11 matches, but has since calmed down a lot and not added to that total. In fact he has now shown an only slightly above average 78 yellows and 6 reds from 24 games.
He has been given a first Championship appointment (in which he showed 9 yellow cards!).
He has refereed Southend just once before at Dagenham in the 3-2 League win when he cautioned Mohsni and 2 of theirs. He didn't attract much comment, adverse or otherwise.
Not sure this is a match for Mohsni as will will need him in the play-offs and Oxford's matches seem to contain more than their share of red cards..
Assistants will be Andy Bennett from Hatherleigh in North Devon and Tim Wood from Gloucester with Chris O'Donnell from Leighton Buzzard doing the 4th Official stuff.
