Paul Brush his Influence

Thought I might start a thread on someone who seems to be the unsung hero in the success of Southend United over the years, one Mr Paul Brush.

Tilly gets all the praise and fair play to him but I think the influence and experience of Paul Brush has had a big effect on the success we have have over the years in helping to guide what was a totally inexperienced manager through two promotions, two cup finals, and a play off final. Take a bow Mr Paul Brush.

To add my considered opinion to the impending debate:

BRUSH OUT! BRUSH OUT! BRUSH OUT! BRUSH OUT! BRUSH OUT! BRUSH OUT! BRUSH OUT!

Thank you for your time :)

Brush is a top man. Tempted to say legend, but that's too far. He's done fantastically for us, hopefully the two will stay at the helm for a long time to come.

Always impressed with the way he conducts himself generally, and he seems to get on well with the players. Often at the final whistle he will have quiet words with individuals - be it ones that played well or poorly.

With Tilly being a novice manager when he took over I expect he relied heavily on Brushy's influence and they seem to be a great combo.

Indeed, let's have a big hand for Brushy.

i am always suspicious that he is responsible for the long ball stuff .... dunno why

Amazing turn around for someone so poor at Orient as a manager.

Seems RM got lucky with Tilson, when he was touting all and sundry for the position as manager and maybe Tilson saw something in him, when out of work and looking for a position in football, can not remember if he worked with Southend free of charge for a few weeks with ST before becoming part of the team

Wonder if he falls in the Don Howe and Peter Taylor box, great as a number two ,but not got the X factor to go it along as the manager
