Yep, but tonight just showed how poor we are without Leonard. No consistency in the team. Anyone who thinks we will get playoffs is deluded. We are poor. Does not matter if league or not, point is we are not that good. Changes needed
.

To be fair, No single man, makes or breaks a team. Leonard's absence tonight had no bearing on the result. Otherwise how do you explain our matches where we lost when he played the full 90 minutes in the team.

IE:

Our 5-0 loss to Rotherham / Our 4-1 loss to Doncaster / Our 3-0 loss to Wigan.

Come to think of it, he has been included in everyone one of our six losses in the league, as well as our FA Cup & Efl Cup losses.

Of course we're poorer without some of our first team starter players. That's why it does matter if it's league or not because they start in the league games. I don't think we will make the playoffs but tonight has absolutely no bearing on that. if you want to talk about the league then your comments would be best on the Oldham thread which was our last league game yep!

Peterborough rested players too so you can’t use that argument. Also wright and Wordsworth would be first choice CM’s when Leonard is gone based on current players so, yes shows how poor we are yep!

Genuine question.

CP reported that we rested / changed 6 players?...How many did they change?

Could not agree more, we are poor. Changes are needed.

It's not an argument. I'm stating that this game had no relevance to our league position. This was a game where some fringe players had a good chance to impress, which they clearly failed. The team will be changed for the next league game as you wish.

Only positives tonight were Brown (and hopefully some people on here) realising that our fringe players and youngsters are not up to it, and Woody getting 60 minutes of running around.

Hendrie can't defend for toffee, and I hope that Timlin is back there on Saturday, until Coker is fit in a couple of weeks. I was shouting at my ipad, show him inside, show him inside, half a second later, Maddison shifted it outside, got half a yard and bang, bottom corner.

Schoolboy defending and awful positioning from Hendrie.

McGlashan, sadly as I like the guy, isnt league one standard. He has pace, and is great for bringing on as an impact sub, but has very little end product.

Ranger needs to discover some form somewhere, otherwise he will be back in prison within a year.

Woody and Wright don't work together, so if Lenny goes, we would have to bring someone in, as Yearwood isn't ready yet.

Madison is one of the best play makers in the division.

Hendrie was left woefully exposed by McGlashan never tracking back. Time after time he was left one on one or two on one.

I doubt Timlin would have done any better at all.

Why show him inside ffs. He is left footed. He showed him onto his weaker foot and he does that

Hendrie was clearly responsible for their second goal.Had Timlin been playing LB, he would at least have got a tackle in, rather than just backing off into his own box all the time.

First rule of defending, no matter which foot is the forwards favourite (most players are two footed anyway these days). Show him into the congested middle, where a shot would need to go through 8 players, do not easily let him get outside and get a free shot at goal, or to the byline and pull the ball back.

Ranger was also partly responsible for the 2nd goal I think as he lost the ball very softly on the half way line, from which Peterborough broke forward. Timlin also dived in and got done like a kipper.

Started off in a positive mood last night, at last sound and vision on iFollow, an interesting team selection with a chance for fringe players to impress. Alas, optimism soon turned to disillusionment as another abject performance proved once again what has been evident all season, we are just not good enough no matter what eleven are selected. The only positives to emerge last night were Oxley, who kept us in the game, Demetriou the least worst of the defenders and Wright, who at least showed some desire and was unlucky to hit the post. Other than that, questions were answered only in a negative way. On last night's evidence, is Ranger really serious about his football career? Ba is plainly not ready for this level for all his willingness to run and chase. Wordsworth looked like he was just going through the motions, McGlashan's limitations are obvious, White is not a centre back, Hendrie was awful and Ferdinand is an accident waiting to happen. Timlin, the usual mixture of inaccurate passing and rash tackles but undeniable drive and commitment. The substitutes were equally woeful and even playing for nearly nine minutes with a two man advantage failed to produce a goal with Ranger hitting the bar when he should have scored.

Hendrie is a wing back. He is much better at attacking than defending. Fwiw I think it was very harsh for him to be singled out for criticism after such an abject performance. Particularly when others have had worse games.

As I have said previously Madison is possibly the best player in the league in his position.

He showed him onto his weaker foot and he has come out with a cracking finish. If he had shown him inside and he had scored, people are then saying why not show him on his weaker foot. If he commits to the tackle and Madison wriggles past, it's why doesn't he stay on his feet.

The only gripe is why doesn't he get tighter.

Let's not make a scape goat when the team as a whole were poor.
