That said, for me his hold up play is very good, more often than not he holds the ball up when the odds were against him.

I would say he is better than he was ......... but could still improve and no doubt will as he gets more and more games. It is an important part of the game - otherwise the opposition just comes back at us especially if we are trying to defend a lead and starting to sit deeper and deeper.

Having said all that a couple of people have named Pigott as Man of the Match for the game against Gillingham.

Yes, I read that article. I'm still not sure if Charlton decide they want to keep him they can do or whether we have the final say on where his future lies beyond January.

yes bit confusing- I though we had option to buy built in, if at same time Charlton have the option to keep then really all we have done is agree the fee and perhaps if that if he is let go we have first right of refusal at the agreed fee. From this though Charlton could just decide that he looks more promising than they though so they will just take him back (all be it when does his contract run out?)

I think his loan spell is due to end on 2nd Jan, so if Charlton want him back then then that won't leave us with very long to get a replacement in.

Just to clarify, when mentioned that the loan spell is due to end on January 2nd, does that mean he is not eligble to play for us at our home game on 2nd Jan against the Donny's?? or is it more of the case his loan deal expires at Midnight on the 2nd, returning to Charlton on the 3rd January?

The way Charlton are currently performing, their season might be almost done and dusted by then away unless whom ever their next permanent manager is can turn it around.

Which I like to think, could play strongly into our hands for a loan extension or possible permanent move (should we still be in with half a chance for a play off place at the turn of the year, and he's still putting in some decent performances & goals).

If a loan extension was the only possible option available, I would personally like him to stay until at least Saturday 6th February where we can give him a good send off and a fond farewell at Roots Hall, after he scores a hat-trick against our webbed feet imbreds.

Speaking to Charlton fans Joe is a 'box player', he reacts to the knock downs and feeds off the quick passes in an around the box. In saying that he is only 21 and I thought his hold up play in our last three games has been good. He will get stronger, more work in the air, but he worked his socks off at Gillingham and made the goal.

Myles Weston very under rated. Was surprised he did not start at Gillingham, must be tactical?

What happened to Luke O'Neil he was brilliant when John White was injured, got forward like Ben Coker.
Should have kept the shirt, or was there an injury?

i think White is the better player myself. i thought O'Neill did alright but White came back in and showed who's boss so it's fair that he keeps the shirt. got a battle on his hands though

I was speaking to a few Gillingham fans after the game in the pub. They all said that Pigott bossed the game in the first half. He's improving well as a player and it's great to see his confidence growing! Also short listed in the top 3 for Fans Player of the Month in league one... I for one hope the deal is wrapped up sharpish in Jan.
