Power cut last night!

Just shows you how incapable we all are without our little luxuries..

Shame.

You wait until the tabloids ramp up a "Siberian Blast" next week..........

I liked the comment "are you all scousers!!"

That said, my fridge has decided it doesn't want to work properly now!!:guns:

I like the way people commenting on it pretend that Thorpe Bay is a different area to Shoebury.

Oh what a fun time that was, although luckily for me our power came back at 7.45pm which was a blessing as I have wife recovering from a Xmas Day bout of Flu and a two year old who is either got a bad cold or the flu. Did not need the extra issue of no power or heating.

Ooooooo sorry for the typo!!

Some great comments on the site! What an odd bunch this Shoebury/Wakering/ "Thorpe Bay" lot are!!

its funny how people actually blame the suppliers for this sort of thing when it happens when its actually nothing to do with them. do they think the same supplier supplys the whole area? clearly not. its the distribution who are at fault yet people just can't seem to grasp this?

There's only one grid of underground cables and substations that feed your house REGARDLESS of who the "supplier" is. I'd imagine that some of these cables are nearly 30+ years old now and can't possibly cope with the increased load that's put on them.
Not to mention when some numpty cuts through one when digging. Happens all the time on the railway and we're left to pick up the pieces.
