Queen are rubbish

Amid all this talk of whether or not it's a good idea to have the fans playing kazoos/drums/trumpets/etc I can think of one musical idea that is most definitely NOT good.

Playing "We Will Rock You" by Queen during the half-time interval.

It's an awful song, they're an awful band and it's also played at loads of other sports venues. A bit of originality please...

I also hate it when we play that boxing/wrestling guy saying 'Let's get ready to rumble' and not following it with the Ant and Dec record of the same name.

'Watch us wreck the mic, watch us wreck the mic, watch us wreck the mic,
Psyche!'

I would dispute the fact that they were rubbish. I would not dispute the fact that We Will Rock You is an unoriginal choice of song.

War of the Worlds would be my choice (which I thought a year or so ago was close to being an option anyway).

Or, naturally, anything by Emma Bunton.

According to Andy.S in the ex-players forum he played for Grays against Cambridge City at the weekend.

Well if it was Five (or was it 5ive?) that'd be a different matter.

A much missed act.

U are kidding? I was unfortunate to see them play at the MTV's 5 Night Stand in Hackney, with A1 and Hear'say when I was 17. They were crap. Still see Scott about now.......What a crap band they were....

Queen were, are, will always be rubbish.
I for one don't want the club I love to be associated with a bunch of mincing, bouffant-haired ponces who like leather, manly love and Anita Dobson.
What's left of Queen should be consigned to room 101. Thankfully Freddie went into the incinerator early and took his porn star tache and his leather pants with him.

Personally I don't mind some Queen songs but 'We will rock you' is not an appropriate half time football song (unless it is on Pro Evolution 2).

Personal choices

The Hustle - Van McCoy.
Get Dancin' - Disco Tex and the sex-o-lettes.

And there speaks a man who understands nothing of Queens music - becuase there is nothing to understand , its all fun , not one sensible or pretencious notion to try and tell people what they should or shouldnt be thinking (and what's this doing in the main board !! unless freddys tach supported the shrimpers !)

Also Freddy was without a doubt the greatest front man/performer to ever grace a stage. There have been none greater !

Oh and one the slowly developing Slade theme , a good half time song would have to be Come on feel the Noise, or Mama were all crazy now.

I think we agreed on the opening refrain from 'War of the Worlds' which segued into 'Jump Around'?!

Kenny put together something similar to demonstrate how good it would sound; have you still got it, Kenny?
