Damn. This could be his season done.

Cast or boot? PM mentioned after the game that Nile went over his ankle. If it's a real cast then that's not good. If it's a boot it may just be a precaution (because he can take it off pretty easily).

No problem, Fortune or Theo both more than adequate replacements. Disappointing for sure, but not a huge disaster. Losing Lennyy for three games and possibly Anton for tomorrow are far bigger losses

Not sure that I would agree with this. Based on our record with Nile in the Team compared to without him, then he is a far greater loss than ANY other player in the Team imho.

Keeping fingers crossed re both him and Anton.

Yes, losing Nile will be a big loss. MAF can come in and do a good job, I'm sure, but it's Ranger that other teams fear.

I honestly think Ferdinand is a bigger loss. He has been imperious at the back and brings the best out of Thompson. Don't also underestimate how well he does as a captain, both vocally and leading by example. He brings such calmness to the team. Let's hope he's not out for long.

Fair comment regarding Ranger, but we have only lost 5 in 30 whether has has played or not. Certainly Fortune is more mobile than Ranger and Theo much quicker also. What Ranger does give you is a presence and no doubt he is a pain in the backside. Missing Anton at the back in terms of the cover available would be huge in my opinion.

He looked in distress in the last 10 mins on Saturday, but seemed to run it off and was still slowly jogging around, even jumped for a high ball, although he did seem lethargic. He walked off the pitch unaided, so cannot see how it can be anything serious?

If we weren't already down to 10 I reckon he'd have go off.

Hopefully it's just the new Nile fashion craze, wearing one white Ugg boot?

I very much doubt it was a cast - which would surely suggest a fractured ankle.

He finished the game on Saturday and although he was showing signs of pain he'd have surely come off if it was a fracture. My guess is it was one of those protective boots and he's been wearing it as a precaution. Phil brown mentioned Nile went over on his ankle during the game so hopefully its one of those that needs a week or so to settle down.

If he's out for the next couple of games its a blow but if he's out for the season and/or playoffs its a nightmare.

I too expect it a boot to make sure he does not aggravate it. Often though with these things it's the swelling that the problem and you don't know that until a while after..

Not necessarily. It could also be a sprain. A sprain and a break are treated the same way.

However, I tend to agree with everything else. If he's in a cast it would imply either a break or a sprain, but for that diagnosis he would have had to have it scanned etc yesterday. Having been in the same position not all that long ago (and having a physio for a wife who treated me) I would say that it is unlikely he would have already had it scanned because they usually like the swelling to go down a bit before-hand. I don't think that would have happened by now.

That is why I asked if it's a cast or a boot. A boot could have been decided on by Ben Clarkson as a precaution.
