Just wondering if anyone has an updated time scale of the Fossets Farm build, ie when its likely to commence building, and a possible opening date??

All hypothetical at this stage of course, but based upon the progress thats been made so far, the powers that be must have a time-frame in mind...

Read in the Standard Recorder this week that more changes have been submitted to the original plans. The way this is dragging on, i cant see the stadium being ready until the start of the 2013-14 season if at all.

Ron has said that he hopes to be in the stadium within 18 months of the buiding work starting. When that starts is anyones guess, but apparently the whole 80 million devlopment hinges on two take away places in victoria avenue.

Its all a bit of a farce really. Hopefully we will have secured all the propert near the hall by june/july and we can commence work at the end of july/august.

Thats said we will be probably having this same conversation next season as we have been for the last 5 seasons lol

Sounds a pretty poor excuse to me - if these developments were that close to starting and ready to go, the 'powers that be' would have offered a realistic price to get the shop owners out with as little delay as possible.

Grassroots has a good point but sainsburys want roots hall cos its the only site available near/in southend town centre. They NEED that site and are prepared to pay big money (well not in their case) to compete with tesco et al. At the moment tesco have not moved on developing the b&q / focus youth house site, therefore sainsburys AT THE MOMENT, i would suggest are not overly concerned with the delay. Im also sure they have negotiated, successfully similar if not more complicated situations.

Be patient...believe...
