Brian Curson, who you will no doubt recall from our LDV final against Wrexham.

He also refereed the two cup ties against Scarborough.

He has also done a few low key Southend League games over the years.

Is usually a 2 to 3 yellows a match ref with no tendencies to excess (famous last words).

Whoever it is, has to be a vast improvement on last week's numpty. Wish I could join you all, but I'll be on my holidays for a month and when I come back I expect to see us still top of league, and in round 2 of the FA Cup! (...touching wood as I type....)

given that I can't remeber him....it's a good sign. Means he was probably OK

LDV final 6 bookings 3 each (but if the match had ended at 90mins, would have been his customary 2 !!)

And if Cap'n Kev had kept his mouth shut, it would've been 5.

I'm touching cloth! I have a bad feeling about the next few games. Mind you my heart tells me we will be alright. The head is a bit unsure.

Dirty *******
Hey, it's my own wood. As Woody Allen said, don't knock masturbation, it's sex with someone you love.

Yup, I doubt he will be as bad as the ref on Saturday... I don't remember him either, usually the refs you don't notice are the best ones...

He certainly turned in a decent performance. Steady, fair and minimal cards.

Mind you, it was a fairly easy game to referee.
