Released Players, Possible Transfer Targets?

Skacel (if he can be bothered) is a great player. Was on fringes of the Czech Republic squad around the time he moved from Hearts to Southampton. Great set piece taker too.

However, I can't imagine we'll even stand a chance. He'll probably end up in France seeing as the Euro is stronger than the pound.

I'm not so sure I'd want Sawyer here now, yes he gave us something different and he dosent appear to have done it at Coventry and Wycombe but we have Moussa, Grant, McCormack & Christophe so who misses out ??
I'd definitely take Sawyer although 4 top class (l1) central mids might be pushing it.

Possible scenario:

Left-Winger(/Moussa) Sawyer/McCormack JFC Grant

..accross the middle. Only problem with that is lack of games for Moussa and possible lack of creativity when he does play (although I think he's fantastic for his age).

Also, you through Ed Upson into the hat, surely Sawyer > Upson?

Joe Jacobson a left back released from Bristol Rovers, still young, ex cardiff reserves captain, could be a decent signing? Also scott murray from bristol city 34 years old but could do a season or 2 on the right wing, 91 goals for city, was playing at cheltenham on loan this season

I thought Ed Upson was described on here as a poor mans Lee Sawyer. If we don't get Sawyer, I still don't think we'd bring him in. Tilly only wants to sign players that are better than what we have and in my eyes Sawyer can become the best midfielder at the Club IF we sign him.

I think people are forgetting how good he was in his loan spell here and remembering his indifferent loan spells at Wycombe and Coventry.

Maybe at the beginning of his loan spell at Wycombe he could have been described as indifferent but by the end of his time there the fans began to realise how good he is. In fact they would like Taylor to sign him this summer either permanently or on a season long loan. Worryingly though there are some rumours on their website that Col U are hoping to sign him in the summer!

Wasn't we interested in Darren Byfield a few season back before he went to Donny? He has been released aswell. Will he be any better than the strikers we have got? (If they were to stay fit for the season)

Getting on a bit now isn't he?

I see Tommy Miller is being released by Ipswich, still only 30, he a reasonable scoring record from midfield.

They have also released Dean Bowditch who scored a hat-trick against a very strong stiffs side a couple of years ago at their place, iirc. He looked very lively. His name has been mentioned before but the W word came up again. But now ?

Tommy Miller, Dean Bowditch or Billy Clarke are three players from Ipshi* I would love to see here.

Magnus Okongai of Dag & Red, player of the season and out of contract i believe. And a defender!

Be worth a go.

I can well imagine that he and a few others are on Tilly's list. They are apparently paid peanuts at D+R, so would suit us down to the ground.

And add Matt Richie to our raid of the Daggers..

I wouldn't mind seeing Abbott here. Jason Kennedy is a midfielder at Darlington that I've always been impressed with whenever I've seen him as well.

Wade Small has been released by Sheffield Wednesday. I suggested him in January and I'm going to renew that suggestion now.
