I wonder how short term a deal they're talking. Sturrock on the OS talks about how he hopes that his main targets are available in a week or two so maybe Taylor would be a stop-gap until then.

Better off with him than Bentley IMHO, and I guess a short-term deal is OK and we can look to sign someone better quickly if he doesn't set the world alight (something that should have happened weeks ago as it is!).

If Cresswell's fit then at least he'll know Taylor's strengths pretty well having played with him at Rotherham.

I for one would be pleased to have him between the sticks as for me he was the better of the trail keepers we had

Can see why you'd say that, but not really. Played in a pre-season game and looked really solid. Certainly a better choice than Bentley.

May be a 'panic' insomuch as we need him for tomorrow, but its not the worst signing we could have made on the eve of a game without a recognised first team keeper.
