Whispering Bob

Just stumbled across this;
In one out of every three games BUT when he was on fire he was ON FIRE! Even when we wasn’t on fire the expectation when he received the ball was immense. Unlike today’s offerings always looking to drive forward. I miss those days. Watching highlights of 70’s 80’s and 90’s games makes me wonder how on earth we have ended up with the comparative dross we see these days. I’d love to see a comparison between then and now for shots on and off target from 25 yards or me for example.What a player the Reverend Doctor Otto was.

How DARE you!If you watch highlights then players are always going to look better but even back then Otto was the exception not the rule.
The 90s also brought us Roger Willis, Micky Bodley, Peter Beadle, Mark Hall, Dominic Iorfa, Carl Beeston, Paul Read, Christian Hyslop, Kevin O’Callagan, Andy Rammell, Andy Harris, Paul Williams, Ben Lewis, Keith Dublin, Julian Hails etc. I’m not sure the overall product was always quite as compelling as you might remember.
Sorry I wasn’t necessarily talking about SUFC, but about football in general. I’m all for better diet, healthier lifestyle etc but technical football (if I can call it that)? Nah not for me.If you watch highlights then players are always going to look better but even back then Otto was the exception not the rule.

I doubt that the Puch Maxi he used to use to get back from forays forward is functioning any longer, or even extant.How DARE you!
TBF from that list, Bodley, Rammell, Hails and maybe Dublin as they were back then would be great in this squad!
