Ricky Ponting

Dick Bate's Protege

Minister for Equality
I see the convicts have dropped him from the one day squad only two games after appointing him stand in Captain; complete shambles with shades of 90's England. Feel sorry for him, should be allowed to go out on his own terms IMO. Never liked him overly, but a true great nonetheless on a level with Gary Pratt.

Hope he pokes it their arse and retires from all International Cricket.

He's called a press conference so i'm guessing he's going to quit .. i never really liked the guy but he was a fantastic player and brilliant captain and deserves all the plaudits that will fly his way if it is the end

He's only giving up ODI's and apparently wants to play one last Ashes series in 2013 when the convicts are here. Agree with you Lee I've never been a fan of the piggy eyed one, but his record is outstanding.

Never liked him, always respected him.

I've also got a grudging admiration for the way he's battling on. They're going to have to remove him kicking and screaming from the team. You can see his competitive spirit, part of what made him a champion, at play there.
