RIP New Order

probably not before time, the post-reformation material has been pretty patchy. After being too young the first time round, I did get to see them on NYE 1998 at Alexandra Palace, still my top gig of all-time. Legends.

Only saw them once at Reading one year - all I can remember is thinking Bernard Sumner has got a dreadful singing voice.

Great band though.

Incredibly sad for me - they've had an album/song for every part of my life (teenage onward). Time for a youtube reminiscence I think. Gonna miss Sumner and the guys, they rocked!

Confusion 85 was possibly the greatest elecro record ever (lasted more than 17 mins if memory serves) but 'Thieves like Us' and shell Shocked are up amongst them. Substance (the first best of) is worthy of a place in anyones record collection. Truly an awesome work of art (and I hate using that phrase lightly).
