Breaking News RM Speaks..

Covenants are quite frequently broken, it depends for whose beneft it was put in place, if it was for the football club and owners of then they can easily appeal against it.

I am just trying to stay calm and trust that, as Ron has said, things will sort themselves out. Interesting to note that the upbeat start to the week, with Sawyer returning, players on trial and waiting to hear from a defender...........has all fallen rather flat with this news. Expectations weren't exactly soaring but we were praying for a signing or two, now, some of us just seem to be praying for survival. They say that a week is long in politics!!!

Whilst everyone is focussed on the football at Barnet tonight ...............should we be keeping one eye on what happens in court tomorrow? Does anyone have an idea if we likely to hear anything on Wednesday, or will we have to wait a little longer to know our fate?

Aye, the club can hide behind the covenant to ensure we have a home, but the definite legal action brought to the club by Sainsbury's should the deal go sour will probably force us to sell the ground to raise capital.

We don't own the ground though. Roots Hall Limited own the ground.

Do we no that the hearing is tomorrow then?

that's what it states on the winding up notice

................................not that I know anything about the law........but I thought that there are people on here who do.

I noticed the other day that Cork City are about to be wound up after failing to pay their tax bills. Perhaps there might be a bargain to be had in their squad......

I don't expect the same to happen to us though.

Just a thought.

When the club hasn't made massive profits, how come we have to pay huge tax bills?

Would imagine it was money owed to inland revenue possibly through a suspense account for wages and NI.
