R.I.P
Just heared that BBC Essex are doing a phone in on thursday night starting at 1800hrs with robbie cowling and john ward of CUFC , anybody thinking of ringing in
Could be embarrasing if no one calls..
Just listened to the phone-in to Cowling and Ward, some interesting points discussed. Cowling sounds like a typical 'ammers fan! However, he seems to have deeper pockets than Martin as he is currently subsidising the club and ensuring that it meets its costs (no court judgements etc!). The stadium is rented from the Council so they don't own it but, they do own 30 acres of land as an asset which makes the club viable given the equity in that , their assests exceed their liabilities it seems. They are planning to use the land to build a youth development area.
Interesting that Cowling reckons that although their gates are small they have a higher percentange than most clubs when it comes to filling their corporate facilities on match days.If FossettsFarm ever gets built then the same would probably happen, businesses prefer decent modern facilities.
Overall, it seems that they are on a far better financial footing than we are, but that is no surprise!
Although to be fair, their attendances are pretty good.
Also said that they are not going out to sign players at the moment. Another season in league one I feel. So hurry up Blues and get promoted so we can have a proper Essex derby next season :) I'm sure ya all dying to meet and buy ya old pal Mad a pint:party:Just listened to the phone-in to Cowling and Ward, some interesting points discussed.
