Ticket News Rochdale (a) - Thursday 15th May - NL Playoff Eliminator

. I did read an earlier “tongue in cheek” request of what the brass houses were like!! Well,if you like your women with one tooth in their head and track marks up their arms then the back of the station is for you my friend. Fo
Thanks mate, I will pack a pair of false gnashers on the basis of your comments.

USB 2.0 on the trust coaches I believe - although I have been on one put on by them before without any sort of charging facilities. Sadly no USB-C yet which is what most recent iPhones use
Yep USB 2.0 on the coaches. The USBs are usually inbetween the seats your sitting on in the middle. IF your sat on the removable seats which allow space for wheelchairs the USBs are usually overhead where the buttons are (Reading lights, cooling etc)

I've just purchased a powerbank as will be working on the Blues on Tour coach and not sure my laptop battery will last until i've completed my work for the day.

Whilst I've always wanted my name to be bounded around financial circles i'd rather it wasn't because I didn't authorise millions of pounds in payments to fund managers because my laptop ran out of battery on a coach up to a play off quarter final.

Superb overview thanks. I was going to hit the Peak District on the way up. Any recommendations N of Rochdale as an alternative? (1-2 hour hike). Plan to be in hotel by 5 and pub five mins later. You may have lost pubs but you won’t have lost a decent drink! None of this soft southern lager sheite or, worse, Stella.

I’m sure the ****hole slur was partly tongue in cheek. I can’t make it think of worse towns surrounding Manchester (and then we have our very own high street!).
Blackstone Edge /White Holme reservoir circular is what I do on a day off. Park at the White House pub,15 minutes drive from Junction 21 on the M62. An hours walk or so,half of it on the Pennine Way,superb views on a clear day. Then just drive down into Rochdale afterwards,15 minutes to the centre.

Yup can confirm this, I have an iPhone 16 and my charger didn’t fit in the USB ports. Bring an adaptor if you have one.

Rochdale fan here. This post aimed at the people like myself who centre an away trip on a reet good drink. For those arriving by train, around the station there is absolutely nothing. I did read an earlier “tongue in cheek” request of what the brass houses were like!! Well,if you like your women with one tooth in their head and track marks up their arms then the back of the station is for you my friend. For the rest, head to town,10 minute walk,or a tram right outside the station takes 2 minutes. Cask and Feather is a pub half way down Drake Street, for those walking. It has in last couple of seasons sold itself as an “away fan” pub.
In town centre, everything there. Those who are booked into the Hampton, perfect spot,2 minute walk. Near transport interchange you have Spoons,Hogarths (like Spoons but with music and TV’s) and 3 micropubs. Round the corner is the Town Hall Square, row of 3 pubs,Flying Horse by far the best for real ale. Seats outside overlooking what I consider the most beautiful town hall in Britain. 5 minutes walk out from town is The Baum, good real ale, fantastic beer garden.
Don’t bother walking to the ground,it’s 20 minutes of your life you won’t get back. Used to be 7pubs on Spotland Road, now 0,could link that in to the mentioned posts of the town being a “****hole”. Could describe at least another 50 towns like ours, where the whole fabric of the place has changed in the last 30 years, but that’s a debate for another day.Taxi rank outside Spoons. Either head to The Cemetery, real ale staple for years,15 minutes walk to the ground. A good alternative now is the converted Spotland Bridge Mill,5 minutes walk to the ground. Has the Twisted Mule (real ale),open at 4pm,next door is the Defiance Gin Bar,a “cool” gaffe for Rochdale really, opens at 5pm.
Up at the ground we have the Ratcliffe, the stadium bar,JW Lees,a local independent brewery is the real ale provider. To soak it up you have one of the best traditional English chippys in the country right across the road from the away end on Wilbutts Lane.
Recap for the best kept real ale. Flying Horse,The Baum,The Cemetery and Twisted Mule.
Enjoy the game
I wish away fans from every single team would come on here and post like this. Thank you so much x

Be honest, you didn’t want to lose your Red Tube connection

My Mum used to work at the White House and ive been up there for birthday meals and for walks on the Pennine Way like you said it is superb and beautiful on a clear day. Had many a good time up there.

If Rochdale's away ticket count is correct, then we have now passed 1100 bums standing on seats at the back, and sitting on seats at the front, a worthy effort. At the last count the home tickets were at 3000 so we are contributing 25% of the total gate so far.

Weve been recommended the Rochdale Sports Club. Apparently can park there free and its a 5 min walk to the ground. Dont think its a classic northern pub situ but might be good as parking around the ground for us driving is a nightmare normally
It's Rochdale Cricket Club, but with squash courts attached, so they have rebranded themselves as a sports club. With it being a cricket club, you can sit outside the bar, although the seats there are incredibly uncomfortable and low down.
