Let's be careful out there (should have been PB's team talk yesterday). Smashing

Never seen Criminal Minds but it would need to be god to beat the boys from the Hill.
I used to love this programme and the wonderful Joyce Davenport so it gets my vote.

Criminal Minds focuses on the psychological and behavioural aspects of how criminals are caught unlike other crime TV shows that are mostly based on the forensic side of catching them. The team of profilers from the Behavioural Analysis Unit of the FBI fly from their headquarters in Quantico to different locations all over the country to put their minds together and complete the profile of the mysterious unsub (unknown subject) and prevent the next strike which could be deadly. The team consists of the enigmatic Hotch, Rossi, eye candy Morgan for the ladies and JJ for the blokes, Reid the genius who has about 6 Ph D’s and Asperger’s syndrome, and Garcia the flamboyant computer wizard who can find out anything you need to know in seconds. There is also a new character in Season 8 called Blake but a bit of an unknown currently. They work out what makes someone tick as a way to try to prevent crimes from occurring again and the plotlines use the most common fears and threats that we all live with.It is a show of grisly, disturbing crime - you can't look away no matter how much your senses tell you to. All the cases are weird, twisted and can leave a bitter taste in your mouth at the end. There's no happy ending every time, they shows you the victims, make you like them and then kill them, not a bad thing, because they actually make you understand what kind of monsters normal/regular human beings can be. Once you watch the show, you will find yourself saying “who would have known there are so many ways someone can get murdered or tortured”!!!.

Lets not forget the fantastic theme tune for HSB. Doo do dooo, dooo do do, dooo do do de doo de doo doo dooo....

What can I say? The original, and simply the best. Dating back to 1981, I had never seen anything like this before - this was the show that influenced so many of the shows we still watch today. In true Ron Martin stylee:

  • Eight Emmys in its debut season. Only The West Wing has done better

  • 98 Emmy nominations in 146 Episodes

  • Ranked #14 in TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV shows

  • Ranked All-Time Best Cop Show in 1993

  • In 2013 Ranked #1 in list of 60 Greatest Dramas of All Time

I love Criminal Minds, but Hill Street Blues will still be watched long after Criminal Minds is forgotten.
