THE ROCK GOD
Fingers crossed eh? Would be a good signing and probably worth a bit of money in the future aswell!
Sawyer was regularly watched by England scouts at Chelsea (this is a fact as I know someone who played in the same team as him at Chelsea youth) he was always considered the best in his year. If he was to leave Chelsea I don't think it would be for a League 2 team as that would surely kill off any England chances
I am probably talking out my arse here but I think (and pray) Sawyer will become a full time Southend player. I cant see Chelsea wanting him as they must have 20 Lee Sawyers in the ranks and with him out of contract in the summer I think chances are he could be moving on.
As an 18 year old lad I imgaine being local is going to be a big pull and short of maybe Orient who no-one in there right mind would join there is no-one closer.
He is playing week in week out here, seems to enjoy the banter and has openly said that he is enojying it here compared to say Federeci who has made it clear here is here for a loan and nothing else.
My only worry is a Watford type club coming in for him but I dont think he is quite ready for the Championship yet.
 My exact thoughts Dave, why would he want to move, he's first choice here the thought of going back to Chelsea and possible not getting games in the reserves is surely reason enough to give it at least the rest of the season here.

I think he is one of just three players who could cope with the Championship; shame the other two are loanees too.
At least we have made a decent start to the season with our loanees, hope we sustain it when we are down to our bare bones later in the season.

I can't see him going to a Championship club just yet though. The fact a club has watched him means very little these days.
