Southend United in shock freebie.

Download the Bell & Spurling / Terry Alderton song for FREE from the official site. Wonders will never cease.

My prayers have been answered. Been trying to find this for ages, I was one of those emailing the club to find out where I could obtain a copy.

Shame about the terrible quality though- has anyone else experienced this?

Good idea by the club and the quality seems fine to me

Hmm funnily enough the quality sounds a lot better when played in Real Player rather than Winamp.

Does anyone have the lyrics to this masterpiece?

Sorry- my fault about the quality - just realise a mate who was round the other day has messed with equaliser settings on WinAmp- problem solved!

sad admission - this song actually made me tingle when it blared out at the Milstad last year. I think only then did it hit me that Southend were at the cup final.

yeah Ivor Novello award winning it aint, but after the first 300 plays it started it grow on and I know associate it, and the Moulin Rouge track as part of the whole SUFC experience.

yeah Zombie Nation was cool but "Hey Baby" has really taken off as well, not forgetting "Pigbag" when Freddie scores (except on Saturday when they must have pressed the wrong button)

I wish they would stop playing 'We Will Rock You' before very game. And i wish people would stop clapping along to it in predictable fashion.

It's better than 'Show me the way to Amabloodyrillo'

It doesn't matter, its OUR song.

Its something uniquely Southend that will only ever be associated with Southend.

I was sceptical at first, but I'll readily admit it has grown on me. It may be a crappy little song, but its OUR crappy little song (and it could be a lot worse: we could be associated with performing lewd acts on Michael Jackson's monkey) and at the end of the day we are probably just a crappy little club, but what makes it special is that it is OUR crappy little club.

I'd much rather hear something uniquely Southend, than something like we will rock you, or the pig-bag or zombie nation songs, which are played at identi-kit stadia up and down the country.

I've already subjected my block to it and there was actually a good reaction from a couple of people. Amazing!

I quite like it. I'm listening to it at the moment. Its nice to have our own unique song. It is certainly a song that grows on you I feel.

As for lyrics, when it was first sung at Roots Hall, didn't they have lyrics in the programme but they were wrong? I'm sure they were avaliable in the Echo as well.

It is uniquely our song, and it'll be playing in my car on the way to Cardiff!
Your car?!
I believe the car belongs to Hertz!
