Among all of the Discussing most people seem to have forgotten that we have a game tomorrow...

Chris Wilder's team lost to Bolton 1-0 on the opening day, then followed it up with a 2-1 defeat against Crewe on Tuesday which went to extra-time after they conceded an 89th minute equaliser, before a home 1-1 draw with Rochdale on Saturday with Billy Sharp equalising in the 81st minute.

As usual, they're expected to be challenging for the title. They've got an ex-Shrimper in Leon Clarke, who scored his first goal for them against Crewe in the EFL Cup.

I'd suspect that we will go:
Oxley,
Demetriou, Sokolik, Barrett, Coker,
Atkinson, King, Leonard, McLaughlin,
Cox, Mooney
Subs: Smith, Thompson, White, O'Neill, McGlashan, Bridge, Williams

And I'll go for a 2-0 defeat.

Went for a 2 nil defeat on Saturday and will do again tomorrow. A draw would be a miracle and achievable if the defence stops conceding cheaply and we can nick a goal. Can't see either based on the last few games though.

1-1 draw

I reckon the best we will manage is a point, and I would definitely take that. As OBL has been saying I would start Sokolik and White as the two CBs and give Teddy a full game. Off the fence......1-1 with Cox doing the biz.

Sheffield United haven't clicked yet, but think they will tomorrow night. They look very strong on paper and we are lacking any sort of fight or belief. I think 3-0 to Sheffield United.

I'd drop Mooney, play 451 and have Lenny behind Cox. His athleticism, drive and pace would allow him to join in with Cox. I think he has attributes that would take us up the pitch, drawing fouls and getting off shots when the opportunity presents itself.
Without the ball he has the stamina to drop in and help out the other two midfield players.

I'd rather use Bridge in that role personally.

Looking forward to this one, new ground for us. I just want to see us playing with some fire in the belly.

Id put 5 at the back and let the Wing backs enjoy themselves. Atleast with a big team like Sheffield the boys will forget about the result a bit more and give it a real go. What's the worst that can happen :whistling:

I can see this happening too - we've not started well so there will be a temptation to shut up shop and try to stop the rot. I can see a back 3 and wonder whether John White will come in. Something like.

Smith
Demetriou, Thompson, Sokolik, Barrett, Coker
O'Neill, Leonard, Atkinson, McLaughlin
Ranger (is he fit?)
