New Board Member Voting

Voting for the 5 new Board Members is now open to Shrimpers Trust Members.

An email with the voting link has been sent to current Members. Please ensure that you have the email address noreply@shrimperstrust.co.uk in your safe senders/whitelist to ensure receipt.

Details can also be found in the Members Area of the Trust Website.

For those of you who are Shrimpers Trust members, the Society Board election is now live.

Since this is the first time in yonks, possibly ever, that there is to be a contested election, I thought it worthy of a thread.

With the work that the Trust has done recently and wants to do in the future too, it's an important election and a chance for members to shape the Trust's direction and approach as we enter an exciting period of (hopefully!) positive change for the club. I'm honoured to be standing for election, as I know are the others who are standing.

If you're a Trust member, you can find my statement and nominations plus those of my fellow candidates in the members' area of the Trust website here.

Have a read, and then vote and have your say! There are some really great people running for election and we're spoilt for choice.

If you can't remember your login details for the Trust website, your username is your membership number (you should be able to find it in your emails when you signed up, and/or on your membership card), and you can easily and quickly reset your password if you need to......or wait for the postal vote paperwork to be sent out.

I won't copy and paste my statement here, as those able to vote can see it on the Trust website, but happy to answer any questions that members might have on here. Other candidates might be happy to do the same if they are SZ members.

There really are some outstanding candidates for this election and I look forward to working with each of the successful five on the Trust Board going forward.

The voting process on the Trust site is straightforward - just prepare yourself to spend a few minutes looking through it all, it is heartening to read the substantial efforts of so many folk on behalf of our club

Some weeks back during the challenging times of protests and match boycotting debates I contributed to a thread in which as a non Trust Member I expressed my support for the efforts and commitment being shown by those leading the Trust. At the time I stated I was not a member due to an issue going back a number of years involving a close and now sadly passed close friend. I happily acknowledge that I have been impressed in recent months by the way individuals have conducted themselves, individual's that would have been part of the Trusts collective approach back in the day which led to my resentment. I genuinely believe we have the opportunity before us with our new Custodians as Supporter's to help shape and influence how our Club evolves from the dark days of 🐀 ownership. I therefore today feel comfortable in my decision to move on and have signed up to be a Trust member. I have faith in the Trust leadership to do the right things. I would urge those of you that have the opportunity to vote to do so and contribute to the future and like me leave the past in the past! Up the Shrimpers.

Some absolutely brilliant candidates to choose from. Really tough decision. Best of luck to everyone
Indeed, agree wholeheartedly.

IMHO, I would cheerfully support any of them as excellent candidates.

Having been involved in a small way with the Supporters Groups as we've gone through the mangle of recent times and seen them all in action in endeavours that the majority of supporters wouldn't have realised were happening backstage I found it really difficult to get it down to five. However, I have made my choices and good luck to all.

Two of them can buy my vote with beer if they wish. I’m easily bought!

As others have posted, I am similarly happy to answer any questions my fellow Shrimpers may have. I am very proud of The Trust's work in recent times and hope that there is an appetite in the fanbase for further progress.

Just check when you vote that you're still logged in. The first time I voted, after reading all the statements, it took me to a login page. I don't think my votes were submitted at that point. I logged back in, voted again and then got a thank you page - I'm guessing if you don't see that then your votes haven't gone through?
