Afternoon,

One of my work mates (only been with us a while) has just spotted my Southend shirt which is proudly hanging on the back of my chair in preparation for tonight.

He used to work with a Paul Dye who also supported us and was a season ticket holder along with his brother, but they lost touch when Paul moved to Edinburgh. He's been trying to get back in touch with Paul for a while now, so I said I'd post on here and see if anyone knew him or still knows his brother.

If anyone does, can they drop me a PM.

Cheers

Tell him to get on Facebook - every Tom, Dick and Paul Dye is on there thesedays if they are cool, if he isn't then he prob isn't worth getting back in touch with.....

ok then..on a similar thread..Mike Wallace..last heard of moving to australia, Andy Brown, still living in Leigh I believe, Dave Tuttlebee and anyone else who went to Belfairs all them years ago.

Oh- and Fiona Slaughter, from Westleigh

any news on the above, greatfully received.

i am not and will never be on facebook or myspace. Sites for people who can't make friends in everyday life or hold a proper conversation so so so so so so sad

I Have loads of friends up here and socialise a lot with them but unfortunately have even more back home (Southend) so keep in contact with them on FB.

IMO it is a good way of keeping relationships from dwindling.

But each to there own i guess!

take it you've not heard of the telephone then?

No…what is that? Don’t tell me, is that thing that keep ringing away in the corner of the room?

The reason why e-mail, facebook and txt is so popular is because sometimes you don't want a conversation on the phone, you may just want to exchange a few mins of news and that is it. Which incidentally you can do with as many of your friends as you want at any one time.

To say that people who use Facebook are people who can't make friends in everyday life or hold a proper conversation, is at best misguided and a bit stupid.

You will find that a high percentage of users on this board are regular Facebook users.

Personally I much prefer to speak to someone either face to face or via the written word - I detest phone conversations - which is why I enjoy chatting on here and on FB. I have plenty of friends that I see regularly but for those I don't, then this written chatty method is my preferred choice.

Are you going to pay my phone bill for all the international calls I'd have to make? That is actually awful excuse.

As Aberdeen said, it's a very easy way to keeping up to date and for me personally interesting to see what people who I used to go to school with are doing these days. Or just catching up with people who I lost contact with years ago.

I actually believe the ones who slaughter facebook/myspace who say it's for people who "can't make friends in real life" are the ones who don't actually have friends in real life(!!) and don't want to register as when they do they haven't actually got any friends or know anyone to add.

Very blinkered view.

Pooh-sticks to you as well fishface :whistling::whistling:
