Blimey and outside the transfer window.

What sort of fee did we get for him?

Don't know about anybody else but right after the transfer window this speaks volumes

There's a sell on fee and special payment from us for every player transfer he is involved in that they fail to sign

Not really; the Millwall guy has got "promoted" to work in a prestigious new position with the Football Association, so a vacancy has occurred. I'd suggest little to do with the transfer window.

Will I miss him ? Unlikely. Seemed to say mostly the right things and achieve little.

Shock. I think you would struggle to find many more clubs with a higher turnover of staff, certainly at senior level than us. What does that tell you? Broken promises. Won't be the last this season I am sure. The club has stagnated and has been that way for many years. It is an almost impossible job to take this club forward certainly off the pitch under the current regime. I have said for a long long time change is needed, new life, new people, new money. But unfortunately the current owner will not let go and will drag us further and further into the mire doing so. £14m and counting chaps...and no nearer to the Fossetts dream. But its ok, British Land will save everything *cough*

Chris Phillips tweeted that he's looking into this rumour about 3 hours ago. Not heard anything myself, but that's no guarantee!

I rang both his phones --- both went to voicemail.

He hasn't replied to either of my messages.

That is, if he still has those phones.

I am not sure if you are on the level or being sarcastic.

He had nothing to do with the stadium (or lack of it) at all. His job was to run the football club.
Sarcasm I am afraid but I do wonder what may be going on behind the scenes. Kavanagh's departure is on News Now Southend.

Stagnated sums it up .I would love to know what Ron has promised certain people in relation to the ground. My only bit of sympathy for Brown at the moment is with regards to promises made about the ground and funds to spend.Anyone who has attended the last few AGMs will have seen the promises made by Ron regarding start dates and will feel that he has blatantly lied to the supporters....Remember how he wanted to keep the Fans informed and hold regular up dates. Will the fans ever turn on him because at the moment he can stay quiet and nobody seems to question the silence

Southend’s Steve Kavanagh to become new Millwall chief executive

Steve Kavanagh is replacing Andy Ambler as Millwall chief executive.

Kavanagh became CEO at Southend United in October 2012.

He is a chartered accountant who started his career in football as finance director at Charlton, later rising to chief executive level with the Addicks. Kavanagh has spent 15 years as an operator on the administrative side of the game.

Kavanagh was in his role at Southend United when Neil Harris hung up his boots at Roots Hall to set up a move into coaching. It paved the way for the striker to return to The Den and eventually become manager.

The FA have appointed Ambler as head of professional game relations, ending just under a decade of service to the Lions.
