Post-Match Thread and Ratings Southend United 2-0 Oxford City

I don’t think this has been shared on here yet, but the Oxford City OS match report is a good read and very complimentary about SUFC and the Roots Hall atmosphere:

Just read it, & i'm assuming their manager Ross Jenkins is the ex Watford centre forward, who scored many goals for them in the 70's, when many of us considered them as close rivals between 74-79.

I wondered that , reading the programe notes he did play for Watford but he must of been to young to play against us in the 70s .

Just watched that link . Thank you. The 1st game at a refurbished Roots Hall, must be Kevin Maher's Testimonial. Can we make sure that happens ?
Great idea , Kevin was going to have his testimonial at the new stadium at Fossets Farm .

Excellent game and outstanding atmosphere.
Oxford looked a decent team defensively but relied too much in lumping the ball forward at every opportunity to the number 14 and when he got 1/2 a chance he put the ball into orbit.
